OMG so excited - husband purchased a 35mm prime lens (SAL35F18) for my Sony A65 for me that I’ve been wanting for Christmas! Should get in a couple weeks.
I’m hoping to spend some time this weekend taking some film photographs with a Minolta 7000 Maxxum. The camera belonged to my husband’s grandmother, and we’ve had it at our house from his mom for a few months now. I have a film canister loaded (no date on the canister so not sure how old it is) and excited to see what results come out!
Went out on the NASIOC AKIC end of summer car drive. The plan was to go to Seward, then back to Anchorage but the weather said otherwise. We ended eating lunch at Girdwood and then back to Anchorage instead.
Spent a great Saturday afternoon going with a bunch of other car folks down to Girdwood. Loaned out my camera to Josh Cuerdo to take photos (and compare it to the Nikon he used at a previous car drive). These are all my own edits to the photos.
Made it out to the second-to-last autocross event of the 2013 season. Now to wait until beginning of 2014 for the ice racing season to start up!

Another awesome Tanacross weekend has raced by and as always, it was exciting and fun. Other than having caught what my husband had, and spent most of Saturday in the RV sleeping and coughing up crud, I did manage to get a few photos.
It’s a big mix between both my Sony A65, and Nokia Lumia 1020. (Even before post-processing, it was hard to distinguish between the two!)
The annual big Show ‘N Shine was today. This is the first big photo event that I did not take my Sony A65 to take the photos. Instead I brought only my Nokia Lumia 1020. That’s right - I used my phone for all of the photos I took today! I imported in the high-res versions and post-edited in Lightroom as I normally do with my Sony camera. I am overly impressed with how they turned out - and foresee using it quick often alongside, or in place of, my Sony.
